
This 18-hour program is designed to assist high school students who are preparing to take the SAT exam. The course will familiarize students with test components, questions, and problems.
Actual questions from previous SATs will be used for practice. Mathematics and verbal sections will be covered. The course should also enhance students' verbal and mathematics skill levels.
MaterialsThe Official SAT Study Guide: Second Edition, now with 10 practice tests, features official SAT practice tests created by the test maker. With 1,000 pages and more than 20 chapters, it's got everything you need to get ready for the SAT.
InstructorsPenn State Beaver mathematics and English faculty will teach the mathematics and verbal sections of the review course. Each instructor is familiar with the exam and the steps necessary to prepare students for successful test-taking. If requested, faculty members will be available outside of the class sessions to discuss questions and provide tips.

CSS/Financial Aid Profile should only be completed for the colleges, universities, graduate and professional schools, and private scholarship programs that require it.
Families can apply for the CSS Profile online @ collegeboard.com There is a fee for application and for each institution listed on the application.
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) web worksheet will be available after January 1, 2012. FAFSA on the Web (fafsa.ed.gov) is a free website through which students can complete the FAFSA online. fafsa.ed.gov
Many schools would like for the families to submit their FAFSA before February 15th. Check with the schools that you are considering and find out their deadlines. Every school is different.
NHS Tutoring
The National Honor Society (NHS) has started to tutor students upon request. If a student wants to be tutored, please come to the guidance office, pick up a "Tutor Request Form" and hand it into me in Room 2015. I will assign a tutor, if one is available, ASAP.
